Bouchon, Luba People, Democratic Republic
Stopper presenting the bust of a probably female character. The torso and arms are swaddled in old, worn fabric. The face is classic and has two outgrowths above the nose. The head is topped with a cylindrical structure housing a cavity storing a magical charge which is blocked by a brass nail. Wood with beautiful patina of use, fabrics, cracks and some minor gaps.
