LE MUS is a popular card game of Basque origin. Mus is a game of betting, probability, communication (by agreed signs) and bluff, close to Poker, but where no money is generally played. Mus is a fast and straightforward game, with plenty of room for bluffing and jokes, due to the mode of communication (facial expressions). It is characteristic to sometimes hear a player proclaim “hordago!” ”, way of forcing the opponent to choose between letting him gain a few points and deciding the entire game on this single move; the game includes many other characteristic expressions and a whole vocabulary. It is played with 4 players: 2 teams of 2 arranged alternately around a table. We play counterclockwise.
