French school circa 1910: “Breton fishermen on the quay”, oil on canvas 41 x 33 cm, mounted in a papier-mâché exhibition frame 50 x 42 cm (many rubbed). For some reason, the painter cropped his composition on three sides with a thick black line, but he neglected to sign it! Probably a study for a large painting, these Breton fishermen leaning on the railing, berets or cap firmly on their heads, clogs on their feet, contemplate from the quay the movements of the ships in the port.
