Jean Etcheverrigaray (1877 – 1952) “La Rhune seen from Urrugne” Oil on panel signed lower left H: 19 cm x L: 27 cm Biography of Jean Etcheverrigaray: Self-taught painter, born in Saint-Jean-de-Luz on the 8th October 1877. Building painter, musician, curious mind, he learned to paint with Floutier. He was at the origin of the creation of the Municipal Harmony of St-Jean-de-Luz. He is the author of numerous fandangos A retrospective exhibition on his work took place in 1993 in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, where he died in 1952.
