"Pistol Year XIII Model Of Saint Etienne"
Cavalry Pistol Model Year XIII.Platinum with round body and espalet hammer, signed Mre Imple de St Etienne and hallmarked with the crowned J of Jean-Baptiste Javelle (controller from 1808 to 1812). Interior of the plate stamped with the platinum maker initial M, in perfect condition. We find the same assembly marks as on the other parts. Nut flange and trigger have retained their blueing.
Breech tail marked MLE. AN 13 in capitals. Barrel, left side, dated 1811, and stamped with the B of Blachon (controller 1st Ventôse year VI – September 12, 1812) and the C of inspector Joseph de Colomb in office from 1804 to October 1811. Barrel, right side, stamped EF (French Empire), surmounted by the B of the same Blachon.
Counterplate and all fittings marked with the H under flower of Hardy Jean-Baptiste, controller from 1810 to 1813.
Wood marked CB.1811 on the right side of the stock for the inspector of Colomb and the controller Blachon. At the rear of the backplate appear the initials of the platinum worker EF and on the left side of the stock is affixed the crowned G hallmark of Gouilloud (revisor from Year 13 to 1816). Baguette marked G crowned with Gouilloud.
This pistol is in rare condition, close to new, with a very beautiful patina. Engravings and punches are clean and well marked and perfectly homogeneous.
