"Male Dragon Saber Year XIII"
Saber of Dragons Mle Year XIII (guard branches touching the crown).Brass guard with tray, with four branches. Quillon comprising the hallmarks of Versailles: the interlaced AC hallmark, of Antoine Chapelle, Inspector from 02/1805 to 07/1809, the JD hallmark of JB Deschaseaux, Controller, and the JC hallmark of Jean Cazamajou, Reviser from 1803 to 08/ 1806. The cap bears an illegible hallmark. The underside of the tray is stamped with the letter J.
Blade marked on the back "Mture Imple du Klingenthal Coulaux Frères", bearing the hallmark B surrounded by dots from Inspector Simon de Baumaretz, stationed in Klingenthal from September 1803 to May 1807 and the hallmark of J-Jacques Mouton, (the large wheel surmounting the M), Controller 1st class from July 1798 to February 1809.
The scabbard is made of black patent leather without underpads with three brass fittings cut into a brace. The bouterolle includes the small spherical steel dart conforming to the An XI - An XIII model.
NB: the blades were engraved Manufacture Impériale from January 31, 1806. The manufacture of this saber can therefore be dated from February 1806 to August 1806.
