Alexandre Kostanda apprenticed with Louis Giraud in Vallauris in 1936. He then taught ceramics in Biot then in Côte d'Or where he was the teacher of the four founders of the Accolay workshops. In 1949, he returned to Vallauris to take charge of Louis Giraud's workshop. Kostanda founded his own workshop in 1953. few colors in a range that goes from brown to red.
