"Sick Table Or Lectern In Solid Blond Mahogany – Mid-19th Century"
Beautiful versatile reading table, with a single plank blond mahogany top, accompanied by end caps to prevent deformation. A removable wooden retaining element can be removed and positioned opposite the top. Below, an iron element whose side part is perforated allows the top to be tilted with a butterfly screw to lock it in the desired position. This table is also adjustable in height using a notched wooden element allowing the top to be positioned at the desired height. A square notched element slides in a turned barrel, with flanges, whose base is also square. The latter rests on a base reminiscent of the shape of a lute. The latter rests on three turned legs with recessed interior casters allowing easy movement of the furniture. The lower part (column and base) is in blond cherry and the top is in blond mahogany. The wood species have the same color. This reading table is more than just a static piece of furniture, it is a companion for the reader. Thanks to the possibility of adjusting the height, this table can adapt to its needs. A feature that demonstrates not only practicality, but also the versatility of design. ******** Period: Mid-19th century. Excellent condition after restoration in our workshop. Waxed finish.
