18th-century Lombard Baroque Sideboard, Lombardy, 18th Century
This 18th-century Lombard Baroque sideboard, skillfully crafted from an antique chest of drawers or ribalta, embodies all the charm of the era. Crafted from walnut and burl walnut, it features a sculpted front distinguished by a pair of solid walnut doors, embellished with ebonized moldings and burl walnut inlays—elements that are also found on the sides. The front stiles are set at a 45-degree angle, while the rear stiles feature ebonized scroll carvings, lending a touch of elegance. The bronze knobs add a precious detail. Inside, a pair of under-top drawers—added at a later date—with fir interiors provide additional storage space.
