Fireback With The Arms Of Louis Alphonse Frémiot (72x72 Cm)

Period fireback from the end of the 17th century or first quarter of the 18th century, with the arms of Louis Alphonse Frémiot, 1685/95-1739, lawyer at the supreme court of Besançon, Sgr and Baron de la Chaux des Crotenay and dependencies (Chalesmes in small part, Cize or Size, Crans, Entre-Deux-Monts, Montliboz and le Chatelet) in the Jura, barony acquired in 1724 from the Baume de St Amour. His son Jean Baptiste, 1717-1776, was Sgr de la Chaux from 1740 until his death. The Frémiot family established in Besançon, including Jacques, banker and merchant, 1646-1727, father of Louis Alphonse, had his arms registered in the state register in 1697. Fireback from a Bisontine collection from the beginning of the last century . Its weight is 65kg. Note a very slight crack on half of its height.
