This bas relief is a reproduction of a rondache created by a milanese armourer from 16th century, only known by his initials, Master MP. He drew his inspiration from a Jean Mignon etching to compose this scenery.
This relief depicts the sacking of Troy. In an architectural landscape collapsing under the effect of assaults, armoured warriors fight against each other with swords, bows and axes.
Excellent condition, dark patina. Three little feet and a hanging ring on the back.
