Large 16th Century Embroidery Elements
Beautiful elements of old embroidery refixes on a modern fabric background. The wool, silk and metal thread figures are in good condition. They represent St Peter and the Virgin Mary and are accompanied by a branch of rose bushes and a cherub's face. They are sewn on a modern fabric background and can easily and without damage be dismantled. The colors are fresh and despite some gaps on St Pierre's face we can see them in good condition. They are similar to orphrey elements but can also be decorations for chasubles or hangings. no frame, no glass. Very old and full of charm. Dimensions of the support: 51cm by 43cm. Dimensions of the characters: 39 cm and 38 cm in height
