"Burma, Early 20th Century, Buddha Statue In Lacquered Wood With Gold Leaf."

Burma, early 20th century, very pretty little statue of Buddha in wood lacquered with gold leaf on a black base represented seated on a triangular base in the position of “taking the earth as witness” (Bhûmisparsha-Mudrà) . This position reflects a meditative attitude. Very beautiful creation reminiscent of dry lacquer sculptures. Presence of a mint mark in slight relief under the base with a flower motif.
Height 12 cm. The scale indicator in the last photograph is a small model of a lighter from a brand known to everyone.
Good condition except for slight normal wear and a small loss on the garment at the left shoulder; without impact on the beautiful aesthetics.
