Netsuke representing a reclining ox (water buffalo), carved in boxwood. The form is sculpted in the round, with careful attention to the details, the folds of the skin and the curve of the back. The eyes are inlaid and show a deep black shine.
Two himotoshi are drilled beneath the base.
