Stag-antler netsuke depicting a small porter squeezed between two bundles. Himotoshi drilled through one rear lobe; the porous core of the antler is visible at the tip. A playful trompe-l’œil with a discreet erotic undertone, characteristic of Edo-period taste.
Condition: honey patina, minor wear; fine material lines inherent to antler (stable).
