Turban Holder - Kavukluk - Syria - Late 19th Century
Turban holder fit “kavukluk”, in carved wood, cut out and inlaid with stars and crescents and mother-of-pearl leaves. Floral decoration throughout. Pediment flanked by a sentence in Arabic. The center is decorated with moucharabiehs and surrounded by two semi-detached columns. Syrian work from the end of the 19th century.
