Delatte, Nancy. Miniature "berluze" Vase (15 Cm), In Polychrome Marmoreal Glass.

André DELATTE (1887-1953), in NANCY. Extremely rare and interesting Miniature vase (15 cm), in the so-called "Berluze" shape, in hand-blown and hot-worked marmoreal glass, with polychrome speckled decoration, on a bright yellow background, with brown variations enriched with bluish nuances. It is a small glass paste with a polished background (the texture is shiny, smooth, and not matte), typical of the Art Nouveau period. The format here is particularly original, which accentuates the rarity of the vase: this vase is, in fact, quite small in size, without being tiny. It is a very beautiful decorative, collectible, very qualitative object. Production from the Manufacture of André Delatte, master glassmaker active during the beginning of the 20th century, and based in Nancy. His works, and more generally his production, could – in particular – bring to mind the work of the Daum brothers. NANCY, early 20th century around 1920. Signature affixed in black paint, with a brush, in stylized handwritten letters on one of the two sides of the vase, on the periphery of the base. The signature, which we illustrate in the photo (see photo n°3), is partially erased, but it is still perfectly visible, and is completely characteristic of Delatte productions. Berluze vases were, in fact, generally signed like this (in enamel, and with this style of writing, font). The object is rare because of its format, but also because of its colors. It can be both a showcase item, as well as a collector's item. The quality of the glasswork is particularly interesting, emblematic of the beautiful productions of the School of Nancy. DIMENSIONS: - height of the vase, 15.50 CM; - its wingspan is approximately 06.00 CM; as indicated, it is a small model vase or, again, a miniature vase. CONDITION REPORT: The vase is in perfect condition. There is absolutely nothing to report; the colors are vibrant and the condition is excellent.
