Born in Grenoble, Gabriel Fournier studied at the Grenoble School of Arts and Fine Arts in Lyon and finally goes to Paris to enter the School of Decorative Arts. In Montmartre, he rubbed shoulders with artists such as Modigliani, Kisling, Soutine, Cendrars, Satie, Max Jacob, Picasso and many others... He collaborated with Raoul Dufy, exhibited with Henri Matisse... This expert in figurative art, initially neo cubist then often compared to Pierre Bonnard, left a fruitful work. From landscapes to still lifes, including portraits and nudes of his only model “Mado”, his tender and devoted wife, who remained until the end “the support of his courage and the guarantee of his unwavering dignity”. Artist represented in the collections of French museums.
