Oval gilded bronze plaquette, 19th century
This plaquette depicts Amphitrite, goddess of the sea and wife of Poseidon, sat on a chariot made of a big shell drawn by two dolphins in the middle of waves. On the left, Triton stands before the cortege and blows in a conch. On the right a nereid escorts the chariot.
Very good condition, gilding well preserved. Four fixing holes.
