Henry d'Anty, is a French painter born Maurice Henry on September 8, 1910 in the Belleville district of Paris and died on December 4, 1998 in Villejuif.
Henry d'Anty did his artistic studies at the Julian Academy and developed many affinities with the artists of the Académie de la Grande Chaumière. His palette is colorful. It is dominated by a powerful ruby red to which it generally combines ocher and blue. D'Anty paints large impastoes which are superimposed on each other and saturate the canvas with their luminous intensity. Then, he identifies the essential shapes of the painting by emphasizing them, here and there, with black touches. The material, shine and choice of colors in his paintings are reminiscent of enamel.
D'Anty paints scenes of rural life, country festivals and still lifes. He draws inspiration from Brittany, Béarn and northern France in his landscapes despite an inspiring Montmartre life.
The Petit Palais files show that his works have been exhibited in numerous galleries and museums, as well as in the main French salons.

D'Anty's works can be found, among others, at the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum in Albi, at the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, at the Chrysler Museum of Art (USA), as well as in the museums of Warsaw and Barcelona.
