Bronze by Eugène de Gaspary, signed on the base, depicting a hunting dog on point, with a beautiful greenish-medallion patina, mounted on a griotte marble plinth. A very realistic and expressive work in its depiction of movement and the quality of its chiseling. Length of the bronze: 31 cm, total height: 15.5 cm, dimensions of the plinth: 29 x 11 x 2 cm. Eugène de Gaspary was a French artist whose career spanned primarily the late 19th and early 20th centuries, best known for his bronze animal sculptures. His preferred subjects were hunting dogs, often depicted on point. A Parisian sculptor, he received an honorable mention at the 1894 Universal Exhibition.
