Barometer and thermometer in carved and gilded wood signed "Gohin Père et fils Optician engineers Patented rue Neuve st Eustache N° 24 in Paris, they are registered under n°537 in the catalog of the exhibition of products of the French industry of 1834 which took place at Place de la Concorde in Paris. Barometer according to Toricelli formed by a gilded wood frame carved with flowers and a frieze of pearls and water flowers. Important pediment delicately carved with the attributes of science such as books, terrestrial globe, snake... The whole topped with an openwork floral crown. Thermometer according to Réaumur formed by a gilded wood frame carved with stars and a frieze of pearls and water flowers. Important delicately carved pediment with the attributes of love such as doves, quiver and torch. The whole topped with an openwork floral crown. Original gold leaf gilding in very good condition (small old restorations, the tubes are missing) We found on the barometer and the thermometer the inscription "exhibition 1834 under No. 537" corresponding to the reference number of the catalog of French industry products of 1834.
