"Pair Of Putti In Bronze After Clodion XIX"
Pair of Louis XVI style putti in patinated and gilded bronze after Clodion XIX th. The putti looking at each other are seated on a rocky base adorned with vines signed Clodion on the back. They are dressed in a drapery with delicate folds and each has one arm raised. The two putti are crowned with a crown of vine leaves. They rest on a Louis XVI style pedestal in gilt bronze finely chiseled with flowers, water flowers and scrolls ending in four small foliaged feet. Patina and mercury gilding with original double patina in very good condition (cleaned by our workshop) Work from the first half of the 19th century with remarkable carving.
