"Transitional Chest Of Drawers, From The Louis XV And Louis XVI Periods, In Marquetry, 18th Century."
Beautiful and elegant chest of drawers from the transition from the Louis XV and Louis XVI periods in marquetry, dating from the second half of the 18th century, around 1770, Parisian work. The chest of drawers that we are presenting opens on the front with a series of five drawers whose shape is raised. The woods used are: Rosewood, rosewood, and lemon tree. The case is made of oak, its gray veined marble top with bec de corbin is original. A beautiful mercury-gilded bronze trim with lion heads and ribbons completes the decor. The rounded sides simulate the fluted effect. The feet are shaped like lion paws. In very good shape. Private collection. Dimensions: h. 88.5 cm x l.132 cm x d.60 cm.
