Chinese wool rug, circa 1980, cotton warp and weft, hand knotted and not tufted (not canvas). Restoration of breakpoints in our workshop. Good general condition, sold as is.
Tien Tsin's creations began in the 1920s, these rugs being mostly intended for the American market. The cartons were inspired by traditional Chinese motifs such as dragons, phoenixes, cranes, conch shells, vases... but also floral motifs reminiscent of French tapestries.
