Silvered Bronze Sculptures, 19th Century flag

Object description :

"Silvered Bronze Sculptures, 19th Century"

Elisabeth I (1533 - 1603), daughter of Anne Boleyn, was indeed the daughter of her father, the formidable Henry VIII (1491 - 1547). They are the last but glorious members of the Tudor dynasty. Under the reign of the king, the Catholic Church lost its power in England as quickly as the successive wives of King Henry lost their heads. A sovereign humanist and art lover, he wrote and played music while his daughter's Elizabethan era saw the arts flourish, including Shakespeare's theatre.
The father dismisses his two daughters Mary (1516 - 1558) and Elisabeth from power in favor of their half brother Edouard. The first finally ascends the throne, trying to restore Catholicism, which her half-sister Elisabeth brushes aside, as she does with her older sister.
These two silver bronzes in very good condition pay homage to these two major historical figures in British history.
