18th Century Carpenter's Compass.

18th Century Carpenter's Compass, in Wrought Iron. With riveted square head, with drop in the shape of a stylized fleur-de-lys, similar work on the other side of the compass. Squaring lines drawn on the edge. Departure from points in the shape of sea monster heads, with animated bodies forming in openwork decoration, an ace of spades, a sphere and an inverted grail. Length 66.5cm. Good overall condition, wear consistent with age and use.
