Michel Pourteyron is an expressionist artist born in 1938. At the age of 15, he entered the Paris School of Applied Arts, but it was in Marseille that he began his life as an artist. He spent more than 20 years in the city, marvelling at the light and landscapes of Provence. It was here that his international career began: the painter exhibited all over the world, from Brazil to the United States. Jean Giono said of him: "Pourteyron draws with colour.
