"Fashion Fascinator In Straw And Ruched Ribbons - France Circa 1860"
Circa 1860 France Small fashion Bibi with straw hood covered with a ruching of ribbons and frills dating from the Second French Empire. Background in mesh of cords with cream pleated ribbons (a few gaps in the ribbons). Large cream braided ribbon with blooming flower on the top. Bubbled with beige cheesecloth with silk braids framing the face. Wide purple satin ribbon with rosette allowing tying under the neck (this ribbon seems later). Some crushing of the ruche, but full piece of its trimmings. Good general structural condition. Dimensions: Cap circumference 20 cm, height 26 cm.
