"Important Barometer, Louis XV Period – 1740"
Rare barometer in blackened wood and gilded wood, dating from the year 1740 and made in a Parisian workshop. This measuring instrument usually used to know the atmospheric pressure is here made with elegance. On a turbulent support in blackened wood, golden ornaments adorn this collector's item. This is topped with a pediment depicting a wreath of leaves and flowers. On each side, two heads of chimeras surmount cornucopias. In the center, a large dial that has survived the centuries accompanies a thermometer with distinguished calligraphy.
