Safavid period (1501-1722)

Superb tinned copper Islamic basin or Tas, very richly decorated with inscriptions (upper register) and ornamental motifs (middle register)

Please note the very particular shape of this piece, unusually deep and hollow (15cm height). The base is largely rounded, and we can see the design of the dovetail assembly, but also the traces of hammering manufacture that gave it its particular shape.

Dimensions 31cm diameter and 15cm height

Very nice homogeneous patina.
