Stunning ,very heavy and rare brass embssed and chiseled alms dish
The mystic lamb facing right with its haloed head turned back. other elements in this image include a banner fluttering in the wind ans a chalice with blood. The creature is depicted surrinded by nature and is unequivocally a symbol to refers to Christ
30cm diameter and... 969g weigth !!!
Another important element is an iron piece which pierces the dish at its center and originally served to attach a wooden folk art statue, often very naive with rudimentary aesthetic. Unfortunately, it is missing but possible to find (I have already had a few that I, unfortunately, sold separately...)
Superb very early example, with a very nice original patina - not cleaned since... always ?!!!
