MURANO
This tiny Venetian island has been producing glass for more than eight centuries. Creations of extreme refinement reached their peak from the 16th century. The prestigious workshops - Ballarin, Barovier & Toso, Seguso, Venini…- are still present. Designers and ceramists collaborate with master glassmakers to produce authentic works of art. The Glass Museum at Palazzo Giustiniani houses no less than 4,000 pieces from antiquity to the present day.
