Pol Chambost (1906–1983)
Trained as a sculptor, Pol Chambost chose clay as his artistic medium from the 1930s through the 1980s. A Parisian ceramicist, he explored multiple facets of creation, from one-of-a-kind pieces to small series. As such, he was one of the leading figures of the Chambre Syndicale des Céramistes d’art de France. The curvilinear forms of his ceramics, with their sensual, daring yet traditional visions, reveal an artist’s passion for objects that are beautiful, useful, and decorative
