"Pair Of Swan Neck Mahogany Sofas, Early 19th Century. (204cm X 80cm)"
Lovely pair of sofas in mahogany and mahogany veneer from the Restoration period, early 19th century (around 1820). These sofas are decorated with a swan's neck on the front. The backs are flat and curved, the armrests are reversed. The tapestry is decorated with large red and white stripes, with green and yellow shades. The seats consist of a spring bed base and a mattress. This pair of sofas is in very good condition, just note the presence of a tiny wear on the piping of one of the mattresses. Also note a slight difference between the two sofas, especially in the decorative molding at the top of the armrests, and the moldings on the plinths. This pair of sofas can be dismantled thanks to its long pierced round head nuts, typical of furniture assemblies of this period. Dimensions: 204cm wide, 105cm high, and 80cm deep.
