Boin-taburet, An Ormolu Fruit Dish Centrepiece, Late 19th Century

Artist: Maison Boin Taburet
The body pierced with open interlaced tracery with original removable gilt metal liner, the top with three candleholders, on scrolling feet with acanthus leaves, on a tri-form shaped base,  stamped to the underside of liner BOIN-TABURET A Paris and again to the underside of the body Boin-Taburet A Paris and numbered 39022, also with poinçon “GB” for Georges Boin.

26cm high, 40cm wide, 38cm deep

It was in 1860 that the goldsmith Georges Boin joined forces with the jeweler Émile Taburet; they won a bronze medal at the Universal Exhibition for a toilet service in the style of Pierre Germain. Here is a perfect example of the productions of the Boin-Taburet house in Paris, strongly influenced by the masterpieces of the 18th century: this centerpiece in gilded bronze with three arms of light, bearing the hallmarks of the master goldsmith " G. Bon”. The Maison Boin-Taburet participates in many fairs and exhibitions, in particular those of 1878, 1889, and 1900.
