Santibelli: The Education Of The Virgin Mary
Rare santibelli showing the education of the Virgin Mary from the 19th century. Here Saint Anne teaches the child virgin by teaching her to read a raised hand as a sign of blessing. The two figures are seated, Mary wears a white dress decorated with gold dots, Saint Anne wears an orange dress decorated with gold dots and a pale green cape; their head bears a radiant halo of gold paper. A bouquet of paper flowers is attached to the right on the terrace. A crack visible on the front appears fortunately only on the base. I do not see any lack or restoration.
