Comb From The Solomon Islands
Long comb made with small strips of wood assembled with buri nut gum and vegetable ties.
These models of combs with refined decorations are characteristic of the islands of the south-east of the Solomon archipelago (Ulawa, Makira, and Malaita).
The top of the object is decorated with very fine fibers of yellow orchid.
The same plant is used to make a small asymmetrical decoration on one edge of the comb.
Good general condition, the tip of a tooth is missing.
