French School XVII, Sculpture Of Sovereign Pontiff H 66 Cm
This sculpture, of great character, represents a blessing Sovereign Pontiff.
We see precisely the gesture of the papal benediction of his right hand, the 3 raised fingers, symbol of the Holy Trinity. With his left hand he holds the terrestrial globe.
He wears the tiara, a kind of triple crown, conical, illustrating his triple power.
His well sculpted beard gives him a strong personality.
