Hendry Lilanga was born in 1974 in Tanzania es Salaam.
From 1993, he learned from his grandfather, the painter Makonde George Lilanga (1934-2005) the technique of painting on goatskin.
It depicts a world of mischievous mashetani (devils).
His long stays in Japan and South Korea influenced his artistic work. At a very young age, Hendry exhibited his works all over the world, notably in South Korea, Japan and Uganda.
