Sarreguemines, pair of large earthenware vases with Renaissance decoration.
This model, entitled "Baluster vase with fluted base", has the form number 332 in the list of "Objects of fantasy and decoration" of the earthenware.
Symmetrical decoration painted by hand of interwoven chimeric animals and vegetal motifs.
The top of the handles presents lion masks.
Hollow marks "Sarreguemines", and form no. 332.
There is also the handwritten mark "Sarreguemines", a mark intended for hand-painted objects, as well as decoration number 621.
Not very visible, a small fragment glued to the tip of a lion’s head.
Height - 54.20 and 54.70 cm.
