Sarreguemines, monumental majolica vase, called "Renaissance Vase" in the catalogues of earthenware.This impressive piece on a pedestal presents decoration in relief of two stylised lion heads and handles in scrolls.
By the richness and brilliance of its colours, this vase reflects the quality of the production of the majolica in Sarreguemines.
A few traces of the use of this piece dated the last quarter of the 19th century are visible, the absence of a volute (photo 5), three small chips in the decor, as well as two on the base of the pedestal.
The hollow marks, "Sarreguemines" and "Majolica", as well as the form number 902, are stamped under the piece.
