Very good overall condition, slight wear consistent with age and use to the gilding.
Bohemian glassware was distinguished in the 19th century by its complete mastery of the cased or overlay glass technique (layering colored glass cut to reveal the transparent underlayer), combined with meticulous enameling and gold gilding. Our piece fits into the refined production of Habsburg dressing bottles from the Biedermeier and Historicism periods, illustrating the chromatic richness and exuberant painted decoration characteristic of the great Bohemian workshops.
