XIXth Painting Embarkation Of Sainte Paule At Ostia After Le Lorrain flag

Object description :

"XIXth Painting Embarkation Of Sainte Paule At Ostia After Le Lorrain"
Superb 19th century oil painting, reproduction of the famous painting representing "the port of Ostia with the embarkation of Sainte Paule". Painting originally made around 1639 by Claude Gellée (around 1600-1682) said Lorrain and commissioned by Philip IV of Spain. This large size reproduction is very close to the original model, everything has been worked on in the details as well as in the colors. The lively scene presents a multitude of characters in the foreground where we see Sainte Paule accompanied towards the boat against a background of architectural buildings and several ships. Very decorative work of good quality in excellent condition where the colors have remained vivid. This painting is currently in the Prado Museum in Madrid.
