Beautiful and rare representation of a ceramic cup project, gouache on paper by Raymond Bigot.
Raymond Bigot was born in Orbec in 1872 and died in Equemauville in 1953. Animal sculptor and painter, he took courses at the School of Decorative Arts in Paris before returning to Honfleur in 1911, he participated in the Salon d'Automne in 1907 and the Salon des Tuileries between 1923 and 1927. Grand prix de the decorative arts exhibition in 1925.
This work is rare by its subject which is a project of ceramic cup flanked by two eagles, maybe a preparatory drawing for a ceramist?
