Market scene in St-Jean de Luz

Louis Floutier was born on March 31, 1882 in Tououse where he followed a first artistic training of five years at the School of Fine Arts from Toulouse in the painting studio of Monsieur Laborde. He joined the National School of Fine Arts in Paris in the studio of Fernand Cormon on November 3, 1903. First logist at the Grand Prix de Rome.
He participated in the First World War, as a volunteer in the 13th Artillery Regiment and 1st Engineer, as a camoufleur. He settled in the Basque Country, and in 1919 took part in the founding of the Pottery of Ciboure with Edgard Lucat then Etienne Vilotte, his brother-in-law. From 1922, he left Pottery and focused on Basque and above all Labourdins landscapes. His second wife gave him an only daughter in 1926. He died in Saint Jean de Luz on October 26, 1936.
