Object description :

"Paul Audra : "
Paul Audra (1869-1948), although born in Valence, spent most of his career in Nice where he directed the School of Decorative Arts, after having studied in Paris in the famous workshop of Gustave Moreau whose teaching, unlike her colleagues mainly consisted in revealing the style and the talent that her students had in them…
It hadn't gone too badly, since Audra had as a fellow student Matisse, Rouault, Bessy, etc…
"Study of a woman with fan ", charcoal and stump 30 X 23 cm in plain view, under a mat 65 X 50 cm, traces of manipulation.
Interesting study showing us the classic profession of the painter.
Like any self-respecting art dealer, I have always loved buying workshop funds… I have had quite a few in my career from that of Micheline Leichnamm, miniaturist artist: a shoe box to that of Paul Audra with a J9 truck full of paintings, sometimes more than two meters, watercolors and drawings!
For this one, my banker at the time (33 years old!) Did not want to trust me and refused to honor my check, GLLLLUPPPS! It must be said that with, I could have bought a small apartment! So I got rid of it a little quickly with a small profit and keeping some drawings that I deliver to you today. Do not hesitate to ask us by email or telephone for additional information or photos. We have many objects and paintings to restore in our shop / Capernaum / depot in Pau where I let myself be overwhelmed and for which we favor the sale on the spot, preferably in lots. Come help us tidy up by buying !
Other photos and many other objects in our shops in Pau and Biarritz and on our site: galerielhoste.com.
