"Jean Hourregue : "oyster Parks In The Arcachon Basin""
Jean Hourrègue (1925-1983): "Oyster beds in the Bassin d'Arcachon", watercolor 26 X 36 cm, mounted by a gray marie-louise in a wooden frame 38 X 48 cm. Annotated on the back "Bassin d'Arcachon and numbered 143 on a label, probably from an exhibition. Here, the low tide washed up pinasses and pinassotes, releasing pontoons and bouchots. See also our two others on the same subject. He was a pupil of Henri Hauterive, then at the Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux before joining the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris. His touch, quick and lively, fixes snapshots of the landscapes encountered during his many trips both in France and abroad, even if (luckily for us!), his native South-West always kept his favors, we offering views of the Landes, the Basque Country, the Pyrenees and, as here, the Basin and Cap-Ferret. Do not hesitate to ask us for photos or additional information by email or telephone. In partnership with Galerie Lafouresse, we specialize in paintings on the Basque Country, the Landes and the Bassin d'Arcachon.
