Saint Sebastian In polychrome wood, Early 17th Saint Bastien, is one of the most represented martyrs in art. Roman martyr, having lived in the 3rd century. A career soldier under Diocetian and Maximian, he will be executed for having supported his co-religionists in their faith and accomplished several miracles. First tied to a pole and pierced with arrows (this is how the artists represent him) he is finally killed with rods after having miraculously healed the first time.
