"An Oil On Panel Village In Normandy, Dieppe, Pollet District ?with Cliff Ep 19th "
The Normandy coastal landscape was a popular subject for many painters in the late 19th century, particularly Impressionist artists and naturalist painters. It shows a pebble beach bordered by a large white chalk cliff, typical of the Normandy coast. To the left of the composition, we can see a small village or houses at the foot of the cliff, with some larger buildings, perhaps 19th-century villas or hotels.
The beach, in the foreground, is strewn with pebbles. A view that very much resembles views of Dieppe from the period.
